Opening hours of the Castello di Mussomeli/Chiaramonte Castle – Summer Season from 25th April, the castle is open everyday apart from Monday – From 09.30 to 12.00 and in the afternoon from 15.30 to 18.00. Winter Season: The castle is open on Saturday and Sunday only from 9.30 alle 12.00

  • Castello di Mussomeli

    The Chiaramonte Castle, built in 1370 in Norman-Gothic style. It stands on a high crag at 778 meters, 2 km outside the town of Mussomeli. It has large halls, dungeons and torture cells, and a chapel with a precious alabaster depicting the Madonna dell Catena (1516). Near the castle are the ruins of a Greek-Italic village.
